Mapelastic Zero – Flexible Two-Component Cementitious Waterproofing

Mapelastic Zero by MAPEI is a two-component cementitious mortar that stays flexible down to -20°C, for waterproofing balconies, terraces, bathrooms and swimming pools. It belongs to MAPEI's Zero line, whose life-cycle CO2 emissions are offset.

Where to use

• Waterproofing bathrooms, balconies, terraces and swimming pools before laying ceramic or stone
• Waterproofing concrete basins that hold water
• Plasterboard, render, cementitious surfaces, lightweight blocks and marine plywood
• Protecting concrete against water, carbonation and salts

Technical data

• Mixing ratio: Component A : Component B = 3 : 1
• Final thickness: at least 2 mm (max 2 mm per coat)
• Application temperature: +8°C to +35°C
• Pot life: approx. 60 min at 20°C
• Consumption: approx. 1.7 kg/m² per mm by hand; 1.85 kg/m² (smooth) or 2.2 kg/m² (rough) per mm by spray
• Packaging: 32 kg kit (Component A 24 kg, Component B 8 kg)
• Storage: 12 months (A) and 24 months (B) in a dry place at +5°C or above

Application notes

• Must not be left exposed inside a swimming pool – cover with tile or stone
• Wait at least 5 days after application before laying ceramics (less in good conditions)
• Reinforce with Mapenet 150 in crack-prone or stressed areas, and use Mapeband in corners and joints
• Do not add cement, aggregate or water
