Aquazip GE 97 – Two-Component Elastic Cementitious Waterproofing

AQUAZIP GE 97 by Fassa Bortolo is a two-component elastic cement-based waterproof coating for terraces, balconies, exterior floors, swimming pools and concrete structures. It is made of cement, graded sand, additives and synthetic polymers that improve workability, adhesion and flexibility, even at low temperatures.

Where to use

• Waterproofing terraces and balconies before laying ceramic or stone
• Waterproofing hydraulic structures such as pools, tanks and canals
• Waterproof, elastic skim coat over micro-cracked plaster
• Concrete walls under high positive hydrostatic pressure
• Protecting stressed concrete structures against carbonation
• Adhesion to concrete, mortar, screeds, old flooring, stone, ceramic, brick and plywood

Technical data

• Mix ratio: 3 parts Component A : 1 part Component B
• Yield: approx. 1.65 kg/m² per mm of thickness
• Maximum thickness per coat: 2 mm; workability approx. 1 hour
• Application temperature +5°C to +35°C
• Wait approx. 5 hours between coats (20°C, 65% RH)
• Wait at least 5 days before tiling
• Classified CM-O2P to EN 14891; EN 1504-2 (PI-MC-IR)
• Crack bridging at -20°C: class A3 (A4 with mesh)

Packaging

• Kit: 33.3 kg (A+B)
• Component A: moisture-protected sack, approx. 25 kg
• Component B: tin, approx. 8.3 kg (8.3 litres)
• Storage: 12 months for each component; protect Component B from frost

Application

• Treat critical points (corners, joints, drains) first with AQUAZIP accessories
• Embed Fassanet 160 mesh in the fresh first coat, overlapping at least 10 cm
• Tile after 5 days using AZ 59 FLEX, AT 99 MAXYFLEX or AD 8 + LATEX DE 80
• Protect from rain, frost and rapid drying; use as supplied with no additions; for professional use
